Usage
These docs were last updated for Room System 2.0.0-beta.14.
Enter a room
Use the door to enter an unlocked room. If it is locked, press Ring Bell to let the people inside know you would like to join. Your name appears on their screen. Wait a few seconds before ringing again; rooms with Do not disturb enabled will not receive the bell.
Once inside, use the room's screen to change its options. You can always leave through the exit, even when the room is locked.
Choose your privacy
Turn on Lock Room to stop people entering through the door. Friends can still enter by accepting an invitation. The room unlocks automatically when everyone leaves.
For a quiet room, turn on Do not disturb to silence the bell. To hide the names of the people inside, use Anonymize Occupants. Others can still see how many people are in the room.
If you would like visitors, turn on Looking for company. This shows others that company is welcome; unlock the door or invite them in when you are ready.
Make yourself comfortable
Use Set Room Message to write a short message for the room. It appears both outside and on the screen inside.
Adjust Night Mode to change the lighting effect for yourself. This does not affect anyone else's view and is unavailable on Android and iOS.
If the world's intercom is set up, Turn On Camera switches the inside and outside camera views on or off.
Invite a friend
While inside a room, find your friend in the screen's invitation list and select their name. You can invite anyone in the same instance. If someone rings the bell, you can invite them this way too.
Your friend receives a floating invitation with your name. Choosing Accept brings them into your room, even when it is locked. Choosing Decline closes the invitation and leaves them where they are.
To stop receiving new invitations yourself, turn off Allow Invites. Turn it back on whenever you want to receive them again. This is your personal preference; the room's Do not disturb option only controls its bell.
